Sci Genom Labs Pvt. Ltd. completes ISO 9001 : 2008 Certification
With a view of setting up a Quality Management System, Sci Genom contacted Lakshy Management Consultant Pvt. Ltd with their expertise in ISO 9001 to implement the quality management system. This was done by working in close contact with Project consultant Mrs Vaibhavi Toraskar from Lakshy Management consultant Pvt. ltd.
Sci Genom is a genomics R & D organization which conducts research work aimed at understanding the role of DNA sequence variation in human health and disease. Data from their studies and advances reported by other published research work are used to develop diagnostic DNA tests that reveal underlying causal genetic defects in human inherited disorders. Such information help guide therapeutic intervention decisions made by doctors and families. Some of their tests are designed for understanding the risk of disease occurrence that can aid doctors and patients manage health risks well ahead of disease onset. They have developed tests that will allow physicians to match patients with appropriate drugs and dose of drugs, based on individual genetic information.
Sci Genom contacted Lakshy Management Consultant Pvt. Ltd with their expertise in ISO 9001 to implement the quality management system which will cover awareness training, gap analysis, documentation workshop, implementation assistance, internal audit, pre-assessment audit and facilitation during final certification audit.
Initial awareness training was conducted by the consultant to impart basic knowledge and input to key people of the organization, followed by Gap Analysis. On the basis of gap analysis report provided by the consultant, required tasks were completed that included preparation of quality manual, functional processes, SOPs, work instructions, guide lines and functional formats. These were formally issued to all the users by the M.R. – Dr C Rajesh.
A rigorous internal audit was carried out and all the observations and findings were discussed in the MRM – Management Review Meeting and required actions were taken by the management to close them.
After this a pre-assessment audit was done to assess organization’s preparedness for the final certification audit and on the basis of positive outcome of the pre-assessment audit, it was decided to do the final certification audit.
ISO 9001 certification body carried out the audit in the month of May By Auditor Ashok Goyal from Qsert & was concluded successfully without any non conformity.
