This course has been designed by leading experts in the field of laboratory accreditation and NABL auditors to provide high-quality training to professionals seeking to effectively understand a Laboratory Quality Management System based on ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and carry out an internal audit that adds value to the new/established Laboratory Management System.

This standard applies to first, second and third-party laboratory carry out tests and/or calibration. This international standard is for use by laboratories in developing their management system covering competence, impartiality and consistent operation of laboratories including quality management system and technical competence.

Course Objectives

This programme will enable participants to understand the requirements of all the clauses of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.

This is training course is designed to develop awareness and competence among laboratory employees and train them to lead/execute internal audit process.

This course prepares participants from the laboratories providing testing/calibration services for the establishment, maintenance and evaluation of an effective laboratory management system to ensure the test and/or calibration report/certificate generated by such laboratories are acceptable by customers nationally and internationally.

1. To design and implement ISO / IEC 17025:2017 requirements for laboratories.
2. How to develop quality system documentation as required by the standard.
3. To learn about Internal Auditing including audit types, stages, phases, conducting audit, reporting & closure of the audits.

1. Understanding concepts of Quality and Laboratory Management System.
2. Traceability & National / International relevance of Accreditation in business.
3. Background, History, and Evolution of ISO / IEC 17025:2017
4. Understanding significant differences between ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
5. Understanding newer concepts of impartiality, confidentiality, process, risks & opportunity, etc. in the context of the laboratory management system.
6. Understanding structure and clauses of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard (Clause 1 to Clause 8) with emphasis on implementation requirements / auditable requirements for each of the clauses of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.
7. Development of documentation for an effective, value adding and user-friendly laboratory management system – Structure and Development of Processes, Quality Manual, procedure, test methods, forms, checklists, templates.
8. Internal Audit Concepts- Understanding types of audits, stages of ISO/IEC 17025 internal audit, and conduct of internal audit for test/calibration laboratory.
9. Practical training in planning, conducting, documenting, reporting & closure of internal audit for Laboratories & Audit documentation including NCR reporting.
10. Accreditation Process for application, registration and audit for ISO/IEC 17025 audit through accreditation body like NABL, IAS, UKAS, DAC, GAC, JAS ANZ, etc.

The delegates will get carefully designed course material for training including presentation, standard interpretation and implementation guidelines as per ISO/IEC 1025:2017 standard.

Methodology

This is a highly interactive training course covering formal presentation, interactive sessions including group exercises, case studies, mock laboratory audit, etc.

Certification

End of the training & upon demonstration of the required level of competence during the examination in the examination, the participants will receive a “Certificate of Participation.”.

Eligibility Criteria

Participants are expected to have a basic understanding of laboratory operations and some knowledge / past experience in documentation, implementation, audit, accreditation of a laboratory management system as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.

Any ITI / Diploma / Bachelors / Masters degree in Engineering / Science with relevant work experience in the field of measurement either in maintenance, inspection, operation in testing/calibration laboratories domain.
